I recently joined an 18 AAA Naba team where I was put in for my first game (with this team) at the top of the bottom of the 7th. Where I threw a 4-1 count.
I was throwing my heat mid eighties low nineties when I got pulled after walking one batter. I was pulled because the "coach" put himself into pitch...
First pitch was a fastball inside for a ball. (It was about 8 inches inside)
Second pitch was a fastball inside for a ball. (It was about 6 inches inside)
Third pitch was a slider painting the inside black for a strike.
Fourth was a fastball high (just about the letters) for a ball.
So was the fifth.
Batter walks to first... And I'm yanked so the coach can pitch?!
It turns out he throws right handed like I do, BUT he only throws around 60-65 mph and has no movement or location.
Considering the score was 8-5 "we" were losing and he then goes on to walk the next batter and give up a stand up double on the next batter (driving a run in). I decided that if I'm going to play on a NABA team this fall. I need to find a new one with a sensible coach.
Question is... Have you guys ever been pulled after five pitches for a lesser pitcher to "relieve" you?
