Hi all, I recently visited my doctor after injuring my pitching elbow. I got an MRI which revealed a Grade 2 partial tear of my UCL. I met with a surgeon who regularly does Tommy John's surgery and after seeing my MRIs, he has determine I do not need TJ surgery. Since the injury I have not been throwing or lifting, just riding a stationary bike. I continue to ice and use anti-inflammation meds. My college season spring season does not start until January. I will be rehabbing and taking this process at the speed my elbow allows.
Has anyone else gone through a similar tear, avoided TJ and came back pitching just as strong as before?
What is a likely timeline for recovery from today until the spring season starts?
