Definitely JD, I plan to keep it loose and have a lot of fun
Well Friday was a pitchers dual 2-1, we only had a few hits.
I was 0-3 with 2K's and a BB, frustrating, got rung up unfairly with bases loaded, no one thought it was even close, other K was like 9 pitch at bat.
Never really saw a pitch to hit so it's not like I had anything to worry about, it just sorta was. I need to take the mindset that I am the 4 hitter and quite frankly, people aren't gonna throw to me.
Saturday was our memorial/charity game against a weak non-conference school, we cruised to a 5 inning 10-0 win. I was 0-0 with a BB.
So since getting to play again I think I'm like 3 for 9 with 2 BB, not too shabby there. I'm just striking out a shit ton, 4 K's. I know i"m right on the cusp of really breaking out, just need more PT and reps.
I spent a long day at the field doing stuff. DId a short pen, and basically found I had lost everything I gained after not touching the mound for a week. Really, I need an offseason type environment to really get it figured out. The whole, never touching the pen isn't doing me any good. I've really got my arm figured out off the mound though.
Took a bunch of BP and threw a bunch of BP, but throwing correctly feels effortless and doesn't leave me too sore, although i don't want to make a habit of it.
After I left the field a friend of mine, who's in a horrible slump called me to hit, I told him I'd come throw too him and it proved totally worthwhile. I basically treated it like a lesson (I get respect from my teammates it seems) and we basically worked him from being long, and sitting on his backfoot to balanced, and super quick to the ball, with proper slotting. He was hitting the ball so well, which is awesome, cause he's an athlete, just hasn't been a hitter most the season. I'm hoping his power will help us win some games.
Feels good to help people out, that's for sure, now if more people wanted to work, we could have the nastiest lineup.
