Baseball is like a family – sort of. We all have a special interest in more than just “a game”. An interest that’s deeply imbedded in camaraderie, belonging to a sense of collective competition, respect for an opponent’s ability, sustaining reputations, reverent loyalties, rights of passage, hero admiration, and a memory base that defies time itself. We ponder the world of statistics and - to a fault, devise the most micro measuring systems on the face of the earth. Even the science of physics has joined in to describe the fluky temperament of the namesake of the game – the baseball, and its flight duration sixty feet six inches.
In short – we’re baseball people. Uncommon, quirky, and not at all understood by those on the outside looking in.
In the sprit of kinship, on behalf of my family and myself I’d like to express to all of you, at this very special time of the year that graces the emotions of humanity, all the best of this Holiday Season and A very Happy New Year.
